Spoken Words launched! The opening night featured the captivating sounds-&-rhythms of Moe Clark of Montreal, and Calgary’s Sarah Murphy (the 2008 Golden Beret recipient) who launched of her Spoken Word CD, when bill danced the war.  Musicians Ralf Buschmeyer, John Hyde, and Brent Van Dusen joined the poets in collaboration & celebration.  This event was hosted by Sheri-D Wilson and Mark Hopkins.  DJ Sublight provided the post-Slam tunes which was perfect for the after-party and reception.

This event also featured “The Last Chance” Slam for anyone across the country that did not make it onto a team. The Last Chance culminated in the formation of the Wildcard team, and consisted of poets from cities across the country.
