The second round of the 2008 National SLAM!  heated up.  Shane Koyczan, the first poet from outside the USA to win the USA National Individual Poetry Slam, performed his beautifully crafted, bittersweet poems before a highly diverse, full and engaged crowd in the John Dutton Theatre in the Central Library. Toronto’s Andrea Thompson, one of the pioneers of the SLAM poetry scene in Canada, infused the stage with the electric jazz of her poetics.  Sean McGarragle and shane avec i grec returned to their MC duties, making sure things ran smoothly for everyone.
